For the most part my evaluation sheet is pretty good, there's no ones which means I'm not terrible. My employer says my attendance is good. I always try my best to be on time and never miss, out of the three months I have been there I have only missed one day. Something I don't do the best on is working without being told what to do. I'm a follower not a leader and without direction I am lost.

this week I cooked potato pancakes and cut vegetables. I also did the the dishes and served people. I handed out punczkis and made the sign. It was a good week.
This week I made plates of food, cleaned, and peeled potatoes. I met a women from Poland who works in the kitchen, shes super nice but doesn't speak much English. I made a little sample plate for the front and I talked to a women eating. She was super nice, her father passed a little while ago and he use to make Polish food. She almost cried when she talked about his stuffed cabbage and explained how she cant eat them anymore cause its just not the same, when she was little she hated them. Its times like these where you need to realize what you have now and not take it for granted.
This week I made fried onions, made a couple of plates, and did the cash register. Everything is going good, I have yet to be yelled at. I make little mistakes here and there but for the most part I got the job down. I'm getting to like customer service and I'm actually enjoying having little conversations with the customers. Some of them are just so sweet I could talk to them for hours. When I was making the onions I was also making mashed potatoes and getting carry out all set up, I was so worried about burning the onions I turned the heat so low that they weren't even cooking.
I Monday I worked at Polish Kitchen and the health inspector was there. I took out the trash for the first time, I'm pretty sure I used Tuby's garbage instead of ours. I made potato pancakes and put the kielbasa in the oven. I also washed the kraut and drained it. That was fun, I let it soak in water then had to squeeze the water out of it before seasoning it. After that I filled some cups with sour cream. This week was pretty slow there weren't many customers so I didn't really get to work on my customer service but I'm fine with that.
This week I did everything right. I got the cash register down, there were no rude customers everything was great. I even have a job in the summer with Cathy at her ice cream shop. On Tuesday I went to the ice cream shop to bake, I put sugar on angel wings and made some other type of cookie. I also packed them all and put the labels on. On Thursday I worked at Polish Kitchen and made the usual plates and cleaned. I know my way around the place now and I feel accomplished cause of it.
This week I worked the register for the first time, that was a disaster. The women who was ordering was extremly rude and nasty towards me and the lady who helped me work the cash register. We did everything we could to try to get her to change her attitude but she just wasn't having it. This made me realize I hate customer service and that is just not the job for me, being behind the scene in the kitchen is my forte. I have high respect for those working customer service people aren't nice and im extremly sensitive. College is forsure in my future now so as terrible of an experience that crude women was, she pushed me to want to get a degree. Besides that everything was nice I made plates for people and cleaned everything.
This week I made cookies, soup, potato pancakes, and learned about everything in the kitchen. I made the potato pancake mix using a food processor eggs and flower. This is probably my favorite thing to do in the kitchen. I also served my first customer this week, it went terrible. I ended up bring the food to the wrong people and it was extremely embarrassing. I also took a couple phone calls. My first call I said “Hello” rather than “Polish Kitchen” that wasn’t professional and was also equally embarrassing to serving customers. I’m learning my way around the kitchen and know how to do most of the tasks given to me. |
